Toni & Guy USA – Skin Allergy Test Policy

Toni & Guy USA – Skin Allergy Test Policy

Toni & Guy USA have a similar layout to the UK website. You go to the location or find a salon and choose the salon you want to visit. Click one the Services tab at the top of the page and scroll down to the Allergy Test Policy just after the prices for Technical treatments.

‘Allergy test policy – We recommend that all clients receive an allergy test prior to any technical service. An additional $5-10 may be added to any technical service for long or thick hair. Technical pricing does not include cutting or styling. At TONI&GUY we recommend booking a style out after all technical services in order to guarantee results.’

Toni & Guy UK – Skin Allergy Test Policy

Toni & Guy UK – Skin Allergy Test Policy

The Toni and Guy website is a little daunting to navigate but once you know what you need to do, it is relatively straight forward. However, if in doubt use the Search widget.
First locate the salon you want or pick one at random using the Salon Finder. I chose a London and a Hampshire based salons to do a comparison. The details are the same. Go to the Prices drop down and scroll down to the Booking information.

‘All clients must have a skin allergy test 48 hours prior to a technical appointment unless a technical service has been carried out in the last three months.’

Percy and Reed – Skin Allergy Test Policy

This is found on the Salon Services page of the Percy and Reed website – near the bottom of the page opposite the prices.

Colour Service Information

When you leave our salon, we want to be sure you’re absolutely, 100% delighted with your style.  So before any technical services we  go through an in-depth consultation taking in your hair history, condition and type.  This way, we all know exactly what you want.
Also, to make sure there’s no risk of reaction, you’ll need a patch test at least 48 hours before your appointment. It should only take about 15 minutes. No patch test, no technical services.  It’s the Percy & Reed way, and it’s because we care.

Hair and Safety at the Salon

A skin/patch test should always be applied to any client regardless whether they are new or a loyal client. If a test is not carried out a salon and the hairdresser are neglecting their duty of care and could get sued and lose their reputation.

In short, safety first as it is not worth risking anyone’s health. Continue reading
